Big Sunny Farmhouse
A great nest for Birders
We are building a list of birds who you can see from the house and yard.

Watch out for our Team
Our feathered helpers like to hang about in certain spots on the farm and are are easier to see in the early morning or late afternoon.
Let us know beforehand if you would like to borrow our binoculars or order a picnic basket.
Please remember you can only walk around the house yard and can not go into paddocks or sheds. Luckily there are plenty of birds to see from here and many Birding Sites near by.

Most links on this page come from the awesome BirdLife Australia and Byron Bird Buddies. You can donate to them here.

We would really appreciate you sending us any sightings or photos to help us build our database.

Happy Birding!

Buff Banded Rail
Office Runner
Often to be seen down near the gate onto the front paddock. You will also see the chicks zipping about if it is the right time of year. They look like little brown fuzz balls on legs.
Mighty Magpie
Spring Defence Force
Common but never boring. There are at least two families near the house often hanging about the huge fig tree near the big shed. In Spring they turn into feathered dive bombers.

Mistletoebird
Super cute entertainment.
Look out the Living room window. Much more entertaining than Netflix.
Nankeen Night Heron
Swamp Manager
There are many different types of water birds on the swampy parts out front. You can see them from the house.
